Holy Child Jesus Church in Richmond Hill Queens was designed by Murphy & Lehmann Architects and was erected in 1931.
Zaskorski & Associates prepared an exterior and interior building conditions and deficiencies assessment report along with a preliminary cost estimate, for the main church building, the rectory and the bell tower. Z&A identified the repair work in 52 types of repairs based on observations of interior and exterior damage and inspections of the building envelope, in order to determine the underlying construction deficiencies. Z&A worked with the Church’s budget to prioritize to those issues which, if ignored, would result in severe structural damage or jeopardize life safety in the future.
Z&A created the Construction Documents, issued bid documents and negotiated the project, filed the project with NYC DOB and supervised the construction progress. Exterior restoration was completed in 2016.
